Authorities identify suspected DUI driver in fatal Ontario freeway collision
A 21-year-old man from Yuba City, Jashanpreet Singh, has been identified as the suspect who crashed his tractor-trailer into a line of vehicles on the 10 Freeway. Authorities believe Singh was driving under the influence of drugs when his speeding truck collided with multiple slow-moving vehicles in traffic. Eyewitnesses described the red cab tractor-trailer hitting numerous vehicles before veering into a different lane and causing more collisions. The incident, captured by Sky5 on scene, showed Singh did not attempt to brake before the crash. Following his arrest for suspected DUI, Singh has been placed in custody at the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga as he awaits charges of vehicular manslaughter and drug-impaired driving. Officials have not disclosed the identities of the victims, and some families have not yet been informed. The crash resulted in at least two individuals being hospitalized, while a dash cam video shared on social media depicts the events leading up to the collision and its devastating impact on the vehicles involved. The California Highway Patrol has confirmed that the footage will be used in the ongoing investigation of the crash.
