ATV crash at Blair, Cambria County border claims one life
Tragically, one individual lost their life in an ATV accident on Saturday afternoon in Blair County. The deceased, identified as 55-year-old Gerard Merritt from Barto, was pronounced dead at the scene by Chief Deputy Hailee Lang following the incident at 2:25 p.m. on June 14. The crash occurred at the intersection of Overlook Road and Frankstown Road in Greenfield Township. The exact cause of the accident remains unknown. Authorities have not disclosed whether Merritt was wearing protective gear at the time of the crash. Responding to the scene were various emergency services, including Portage FD, Summerhill Township FD, Blue Knob FD, Forest Hills EMS, State Police, and the Cambria County Coroner.
