RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- At least one person is dead after a crash on Interstate 95 South in Richmond on Tuesday. Just before 8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3, troopers with Virginia State Police were called to I-95 southbound near its interchange with I-64 eastbound for report of a crash. Details are limited at this time, but Virginia State Police confirmed that at least one person was killed in the crash. As of 9:54 p.m., the southbound left and center lane, as well as the northbound left lane, are closed in the area surrounding the crash, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT). Traffic is backed up more than 2 miles at this time. Drivers are encouraged to seek alternative routes. No further information is available as of the time of reporting.
