At least one dead after crash on Pellissippi Parkway near Alcoa

BLOUNT COUNTY, Tenn. (WATE) — At least one person is dead following a crash on Pellissippi Parkway in Blount County Tuesday morning. Around 9:50 a.m., the Alcoa Police Department reported that officers and firefighters were on the scene of a crash on Pellissippi Parkway near the off ramp of Alcoa Highway. All lanes of Pellissippi Parkway were shut down as crews worked to reconstruct the crash. A spokesperson with Alcoa police confirmed to 6 News that the crash involved a single vehicle and was fatal. Shortly after 11:45 a.m., Mark Nagi with the Tennessee Department of Transportation reported that all lanes of Pellissippi Parkway had reopened. Traffic was diverted to Alcoa Highway during the closure.
