At least 1 dead after Interstate 80 crash in Placer County involving tanker
At least one person died in the late hours of Tuesday night along Interstate 80 in Placer County, the California Highway Patrol Auburn division said.All eastbound lanes of I-80 were closed for hours at Placer Hills Road due to the crash that happened around 11:15 p.m. at Clipper Gap. While officers were still investigating, crews diverted eastbound traffic off the freeway at Placer Hills Road and had motorists re-enter the freeway past the scene.The crash involved a tanker truck and a car. The tanker flipped over, and it took crews several hours to upright it and tow it away. It appears that the person who died was in the car.KCRA 3 is working to gather details as to what led to the crash and if there were any other injuries.See news happening?
