
Arrest made in fatal West Jordan hit-and-run crash
<p>WEST JORDAN — A 46-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a deadly hit-and-run crash this week in West Jordan after the vehicle suspected of being involved was located and items belonging to the victim were found inside.</p><p>Sabino Lazaro-Javier was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail on Thursday for investigation of two counts of obstruction of justice.</p><p>On Tuesday night, West Jordan police responded to a crash at Gardner Lane and Redwood Road. An SUV had <a href="https://www.ksl.com/article/51283009/motorcyclist-struck-critically-injured-in-west-jordan-hit-and-run-" rel="follow" target="_blank">hit a motorcyclist</a> and drove off before officers arrived, according to police.</p><p>&quot&#x3B;The motorcyclist was transported by ambulance to the hospital where he died as a result of his injuries,&quot&#x3B; a police booking affidavit states. He was later identified as Garrett Randall Pace, 23.</p><p>On Wednesday, police received a tip that the 2002 GMC Yukon that drove away from the scene was in a neighborhood in the area of 8600 South and 4000 West. Officers responded and located the vehicle.</p><p>&quot&#x3B;Investigators observed that the Yukon exhibited extensive damage on the passenger side, consistent with the details of the collision.
