Arrest made after Wiscasset man crashes on I-295 while driving under influence
Taylor Delano, a 25-year-old resident of Wiscasset, was arrested for driving under the influence on Friday night. During a traffic stop on Interstate 295 at 10:37 p.m., a South Portland police officer witnessed Delano speeding past. Shortly after, Delano collided with another vehicle, causing his own car to overturn and crash through a guardrail before finally halting against a cluster of trees. Authorities report that speed and alcohol played a role in the accident. Emergency responders transported Delano, his passenger, and the other driver involved in the collision to Maine Medical Center for minor injuries. Delano, who had previous DUI incidents, is now facing multiple charges.
