Apology from Henry Ruggs III for fatal drunk driving accident.
Former Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Henry Ruggs III expressed his regret to the family of Tina Tintor, the victim of a fatal drunk driving accident in November 2021. Ruggs, who admitted guilt in felony DUI causing death and misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter, made his apology at an event hosted by the nonprofit organization Hope for Prisoners, which focuses on assisting individuals with reintegration after incarceration. Ruggs stated that he wished he could go back in time and that he sincerely hoped the family could see the true version of himself. He acknowledged the pain caused not only by the accident itself but also by the ongoing media coverage of his actions. The crash occurred when Ruggs was driving at 156 mph and under the influence, with his blood-alcohol content surpassing Nevada’s legal limit. Currently serving a sentence with possible parole in August 2026, Ruggs has had discussions with some NFL teams hoping for a second chance in his football career. His former teammate at both Alabama and Las Vegas, Josh Jacobs, has been advocating on his behalf. Prior to the tragic incident, Ruggs had shown promise in his NFL career after being drafted as the No. 12 pick in 2020. Now, he reflects on missed opportunities, having accumulated impressive stats in the limited games he played.
