Anthony Joshua's First Message After Fatal Crash

London: Anthony Joshua, the former world heavyweight champion, recently shared on social media for the first time since a tragic car accident in Nigeria claimed the lives of two of his close friends. The 36-year-old British boxer was involved in the accident while traveling as a passenger in a Lexus SUV that collided with a stationary truck on a busy highway linking Lagos and Ibadan in southwest Nigeria last week. Sadly, his team members Latif Ayodele and Sina Ghami lost their lives in the crash, while Joshua sustained minor injuries and has since been discharged from the hospital. The boxer flew back to the UK to attend the funerals of Ghami, his strength and conditioning coach, and Ayodele, his personal trainer. Sharing two images on Instagram on Sunday, Joshua was seen with his mother and three other women, one of whom held a photograph of Ghami. The caption of the post read 'My Brothers Keeper'. The driver of the vehicle, Adeniyi Mobolaji Kayode, has been charged by Nigerian police with 'dangerous driving causing death' and is scheduled to appear in court on January 20. Joshua, who won the 2012 Olympic title, has roots in Nigeria and had been on holiday in the country following his victory over Jake Paul in Miami on December 19.
