Anniversary of deadly plane crash in Beaver County
Today marks the 31st anniversary of the tragic crash of Flight 427 near the state line in Hopewell Township. The crash resulted in the loss of 132 lives, including local residents Anthony and Paula Rich and their unborn child. In remembrance of them, The Rich Center for Autism, named in their honor, is hosting a fundraising golf event at the Youngstown Country Club. All proceeds will go towards supporting the center. An investigation lasting four years concluded that the crash was caused by a malfunctioning valve that caused the rudder to become stuck.
