An arrest has been made in deadly Des Moines motorcycle collision
Authorities in Des Moines have arrested Crystal Ivie in connection with a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred in June. The incident took place when Ivie allegedly disregarded a stop sign at Southwest 9th and Luster Lane, leading to a collision with motorcyclist Matthew Ringgenberg, causing his death. Ringgenberg, 40, was pronounced deceased at the scene while Ivie sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital. Police investigations revealed that Ivie had two young children in her vehicle, along with open containers and drugs, including meth, fentanyl, and other substances in her system. Ivie now faces charges of OWI, child endangerment, and multiple traffic violations. She is scheduled to appear in court next Thursday.
