Ambulance rolls over, 3 taken to hospital in Ocala crash, firefighters say
Three people were hospitalized following their involvement in a crash that left an ambulance on its side Tuesday in Ocala, according to firefighters. The crash occurred around 5 p.m. in the northbound lanes of Interstate 75 near mile marker 354, Ocala Fire Rescue said in a news release. The three-vehicle crash involved two personal vehicles and an American Ambulance transport van which first responders found on its side, the release states. Passersby helped a patient and two transport personnel evacuate the overturned ambulance before first responders' arrival, according to the release. The three were taken to local hospitals for evaluation, the release states, adding no other injuries were reported. The two leftmost northbound lanes of I-75 were blocked until around 6:30 p.m., causing delays, firefighters said.
