Allen man dies after striking cow, tree in Hughes County crash
HUGHES COUNTY, Okla. (KFOR) — A 43-year-old Allen man died early Friday morning after a crash involving livestock along State Highway 48 in Hughes County. According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the crash occurred just before 12:05 a.m. on Friday along State Highway 48 near East 1400 Road in Hughes County. Troopers said the driver, later identified as 43-year-old David Fisher, was traveling northbound on State Highway 48 when he attempted to take evasive action to avoid a cow in the roadway. Fisher ended up striking the cow and continued traveling around 360 feet north before colliding with a tree. Fisher was pronounced dead at the scene. There was no one else inside the vehicle at the time of the incident. The crash is still under investigation.
