Allegations against Conner Smith after fatal car accident.
Country singer Conner Smith is currently facing legal troubles following a tragic incident in Nashville. His vehicle struck and killed a woman while she was crossing the road. Smith's attorney, Worrick G. Robinson IV, stated that the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department issued Conner a citation under state law. Robinson expressed Smith's gratitude towards the MNPD for their thorough investigation of the incident. Robinson conveyed the following statement on behalf of Conner Smith: "Conner is appreciative of the MNPD's diligent efforts in investigating this heartbreaking accident and has been fully cooperative throughout. His thoughts are with Ms. Dobbins' family, and he is dedicated to honoring her memory by advocating for pedestrian safety improvements to prevent similar tragedies." Following the collision on June 8, where Smith, 24, failed to yield and struck 77-year-old Dorothy Dobbins as she crossed the street in a designated crosswalk, Smith was charged with a misdemeanor for failure to yield. The accident occurred at the conclusion of Nashville's CMA Fest, causing concern among attendees and locals. Authorities determined Smith's failure to yield as the primary factor contributing to the crash; however, there were no indications of impairment upon investigation, with no evidence suggesting Smith was under the influence of drugs or using his cellphone during the incident. Being a native of Nashville, Smith has long been involved in the city's vibrant country music community. This connection was further solidified when he received a nomination for New Male Artist of the Year at the 2024 ACM Awards. Under Big Machine Records, he has been establishing his presence on the country music charts. For more engaging content, continue reading PRIMETIMER!
