All lanes closed on I-75 Northbound in Marion County due to multi-vehicle crash

A major crash involving multiple vehicles occurred on I-75 Northbound in Ocala, causing a blockade of all lanes on Wednesday afternoon. The accident, which took place just before Mile Marker 352 around 3:49 p.m., resulted from a semi-truck overturning and spilling about 350 gallons of diesel fuel. The semi-truck was headed south when a tire issue led to it crossing into northbound lanes, where it toppled onto a Honda Civic. Emergency services responded promptly, and two individuals from the Honda Civic were sent to the hospital for assessment. As of 5:40 p.m., all northbound lanes remained shut down, with detours in place for drivers entering from SR 200 and SR 40. Commuters were urged to find alternative routes until the situation was resolved.
