Alamogordo police probe deadly train collision
An investigation is ongoing into a tragic accident in Alamogordo where a person lost their life in a collision between a pedestrian and a train on Saturday. The incident, which took place near Eddy Drive and Mesa Verde Ranch Road at approximately 8:30 a.m., resulted in the death of the pedestrian, who was struck by the train. Thankfully, no members of the train crew sustained any injuries. The railroad crossing near the site of the accident was closed, but was later reopened by police in the early afternoon.
