Airplane crash north of Ellicott injures one
(EL PASO COUNTY, Colo.) — One person was injured in an airplane crash near Flying View, north of Ellicott, on Saturday, March 21, according to the El Paso County Sheriff's Office (EPSO). EPSO stated that deputies are on the scene of the crash in the area between Ellicott and Calhan. One person was injured and taken to the hospital. FOX21 News crew at the scene reported that the small plane appeared to have crashed in a field near a home, causing extensive damage to the plane, and that the Ellicott Fire Protection District had responded to the scene. According to EPSO, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) will lead the investigation into the cause of the crash.
