AG's office confirms conviction in deadly Monona County crash

A man has been found guilty of causing a fatal accident while driving drunk, as announced by the Iowa Attorney General. In October of last year, Wakinyan Freemont was charged with driving while intoxicated on Highway 175 in Monona County, resulting in a collision that claimed the life of John Creswell. The Attorney General emphasized the dangers of driving under the influence and expressed condolences to the victim's loved ones. The investigation involved multiple law enforcement agencies as well as forensic experts, and the perpetrator has now been convicted of vehicular manslaughter under the influence. Sentencing details are pending.
