In Ankeny, Iowa, there was a tragic incident where 44-year-old Courtney Petersen, known as Corey to her loved ones, lost her life last Thursday morning in a collision with a dump truck while crossing a dangerous intersection near the High Trestle Trail. Corey, a remarkable athlete who competed in numerous marathons and was dedicated to fostering dogs, was deeply loved by her family. Her sister Melissa Prager, from Seattle, is emphasizing the need for safety improvements at this intersection to prevent such devastating accidents in the future. Corey's husband, Brad Petersen, a retired Major in the US Marines, shared how Corey's resilient spirit helped her overcome challenges, including being paralyzed in 2007.
