Accidental death at Universal Orlando theme park coaster.
According to a report from the Orange County Sheriff's Office, the death of 32-year-old Kevin Rodriquez-Zavala on a high-speed roller coaster at Universal Orlando's Epic Universe theme park has been determined to be accidental. Zavala was initially responsive at the start of the ride but was found unresponsive upon its return to the loading dock. The roller coaster, Stardust Racers, in Universal Orlando's newest theme park, reaches speeds up to 62 mph and heights up to 133 feet. Witnesses reported severe facial trauma and injuries to Zavala, who had pre-existing medical conditions and had been urged by his parents to avoid such rides. Despite concerns raised by Zavala's family and their attorney, investigations concluded that the theme park staff followed proper procedures, and the incident was deemed an accidental death.
