Accident on Hwy 164 in Limestone County causes road closure.
A fatal traffic accident on State Highway 164 in Limestone County, west of Groesbeck, resulted in the complete closure of the highway on Friday morning. Department of Public Safety Sergeant Ryan Howard stated that the crash occurred near Limestone County Road 396 earlier that morning, and traffic diversions were put in place that were expected to last for a few hours. Westbound traffic was redirected from SH-14 to US-84, while eastbound traffic was rerouted from FM-1245 to US-84. Authorities were still present at the scene by mid-morning, investigating the details of the crash. The names of any individuals involved were not disclosed out of respect for notifying their families first.
