A recent accident occurred in Provo Canyon, Utah, causing the closure of both lanes on Highway 189, which was announced by the Wasatch County Sheriff's Office. The closure was at milepost 18 on the Provo side of the Deer Creek Dam. Emergency crews were on the scene, and drivers were advised to avoid the area and expect delays. Updates will be provided once it's safe to reopen the roadway. A KUTV reporter mentioned that the incident involved a single-vehicle rollover crash with a semi hauling hay bales, leading to the closure of all southbound lanes. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported. Both northbound and southbound lanes were closed, causing traffic congestion as efforts were made to clear the area. Drivers were encouraged to use I-80 or I-15 as alternative routes. This recent accident followed a crash on Sunday near Canyon Glen Park, resulting in four individuals being hospitalized.
