Accident caused by fallen power lines leaves many without electricity

Downed power lines on KY 56 in Daviess County, Kentucky resulted in an accident and a power outage affecting thousands of people. The incident blocked off both lanes of KY 56 between the 11.8- and 11.9-mile markers. According to a report obtained by Eyewitness News, repairs are expected to take around 12 hours. The Daviess County Sheriff's Office reported that a vehicle collided with the downed power lines, caused by five poles knocked down during the storm. Firefighters had to rescue the trapped driver from the car. Around 875 Kenergy customers are currently without power as a result of this situation, and there is no estimation on when power will be restored.
