A College of Charleston professor died in a streetcar accident in Lisbon, Portugal
A tragic incident in Portugal resulted in the death of Dr. Heather Hall, a dedicated faculty member from the College of Charleston's Department of Teacher Education, specializing in literacy and special education. Dr. Hall's passing has deeply saddened the College of Charleston School of Education community. She had a passion for travel and shared this love with her students during study abroad trips to Italy. Even though her untimely death occurred while she was in Lisbon for a conference, her energy, kindness, and student-focused approach will be greatly missed, as highlighted by School of Education Dean Fran Welch. The College of Charleston is providing support for those affected by this loss, with students encouraged to reach out to the Counseling Center and faculty/staff to contact AllOne Health. These services are confidential and offered at no cost to all College of Charleston affiliates.
