911 calls disclosed for fatal crash in Ozaukee County
Recent 911 calls documented individuals reporting a dangerous driver who caused a fatal accident on I-43 in Ozaukee County. FOX6 News was given access to six of these calls, which notified the Ozaukee County Sheriff's Office of a driver traveling at high speeds of 80 to 100 miles per hour in the wrong direction on the highway late on the evening of Memorial Day. Despite some drivers managing to evade the oncoming vehicle, a devastating collision occurred which resulted in the tragic loss of an Oostburg couple and injuries to their daughter. The crash report reveals that Nicole Horne was driving, her husband Jay Horne was killed upon ejection from the vehicle, and their daughter, Allissa, survived with significant injuries. The suspected wrong-way driver, Ace Vue, faces charges related to the accident, with law enforcement indicating that alcohol and drugs may have played a role. Vue's reckless driving behavior was captured on his dash camera, showing numerous other vehicles swerving to avoid him as he drove on the wrong side of the road. Vue is currently in custody after his bond was set at $2 million and will appear in court on June 12. A community member who witnessed the events recounted via 911 call the concerning situation as it unfolded.
