91-year-old woman dies in crash caused by illegal U-turn
A 91-year-old woman passed away following a fatal crash caused by an illegal U-turn attempt that involved two vehicles. The incident occurred on Saturday, with law enforcement officers from the Elk Grove Police Department responding to the scene on Bond Road at Salmon Creek Drive around 2:50 p.m. A Lincoln was making a northbound turn on Salmon Creek Drive towards Bond Road and attempted an illegal U-turn, leading to a collision with a Toyota traveling eastbound on Bond Road. The elderly driver of the Lincoln was taken to the hospital and later succumbed to her injuries, while the Toyota's driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
