9 injured in violent San Fernando Valley 3-vehicle crash
A violent multi-vehicle crash in the San Fernando Valley Thursday night left at least nine people injured, two of them seriously, officials announced. Details are limited and it’s unclear at this point exactly how the three-car crash happened, though crews with the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the scene in the 13300 block of Roscoe Boulevard just after 9 p.m. on reports of the crash, authorities said in a news release. Aerial footage over the scene captured by Sky5 showed a heavy presence of first responders and an area spanning both sides of the roadway cordoned off. Two of the vehicles sustained heavy front-end damage and were positioned on either side of the street. A third vehicle, a white van in the middle of the road, showed minor damage and appeared to have one of the other vehicle’s front bumpers underneath its front end. In footage of the scene captured on the ground and posted to the Citizen App, a large debris field could be seen scattered on the road surrounding one of the vehicles. Fire officials said that in all, nine patients were injured, five of whom were taken to the hospital with minor injuries and two more in serious condition. It’s unclear if alcohol and or drugs or high speeds were a factor in the multi-casualty incident and, so far, no additional details have been provided.
