
82-year-old woman dies in Sonora car accident
An 82-year-old woman passed away following a collision between a Jeep and a Caltrans vehicle in Sonora. The incident occurred on Monday night when a 51-year-old man was driving the Jeep with his 52-year-old female passenger and the 82-year-old woman in the backseat. The crash took place on State Route 120 near Menke Ness Road. The driver of the Jeep attempted to pass the Caltrans vehicle on the left on a roadway with separated eastbound and westbound lanes. In an effort to avoid a collision, the Jeep driver lost control, leading to the vehicle overturning. The driver sustained minor injuries, while the front passenger had moderate injuries. Unfortunately, the 82-year-old backseat passenger did not survive the crash. The California Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
