8 people, including 5 juveniles, die in fiery crash on I-85 in Georgia
A man has been taken into custody following a tragic accident on Interstate 85 in Jackson County, Georgia, which resulted in the deaths of eight individuals, including five juveniles. The incident occurred when a semi-truck rear-ended a Dodge Grand Caravan, triggering a chain reaction involving a total of six vehicles. Both the van and the semi-truck caught fire as a result of the collision. The identities of the deceased have not yet been officially released. The driver of the semi-truck, identified as Kane Aaron Hammock, has been arrested and faces charges including multiple counts of vehicular homicide and feticide, as well as other traffic-related violations. The National Transportation Safety Board is conducting an investigation in collaboration with local authorities. The Georgia State Patrol is leading the ongoing investigation into the crash.
