7th grader creates scholarship in memory of teen killed in car accident
After a tragic loss of a friend in a car accident, 7th grader Morgan from Erie County took initiative to create a memorial fund in honor of 13-year-old Connor Miller. Inspired by her close relationship with Connor's family, Morgan felt a strong sense of community support that allowed her to pursue this idea. Connor's mother, Jena Miller, was enthusiastic about the fund and expressed gratitude for the overwhelming community backing they have received. Almost a year ago, the Miller family faced a devastating loss when Connor, along with his father and grandfather, passed away in a car crash. To cherish Connor's memory, the 7th grader conceptualized the Conner Miller Memorial Scholarship Fund, with the inaugural fundraising event titled the "Miles of Memories Glow Run Relay." This event, to be held at Margaretta High School on July 13, aims to raise funds for the scholarship program. Connor's vibrant personality and dedication to his passions are remembered through this initiative. Through the fund, Morgan hopes to support students in pursuing their academic aspirations. The glow run relay symbolizes the light that Connor brought to those around him. To participate or contribute to the cause, teams of four can register for $40, with additional donations welcomed.
