79-year-old woman's identity confirmed after fatal crash into tree in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania

The Lancaster County Coroner's Office has identified a 79-year-old woman who tragically lost her life in a collision at the Long Lane and Marticville Road intersection on Monday morning. The incident, which took place close to Cherry Hill Orchards, involved a Subaru Outback and a Ford Explorer. The Subaru reportedly collided with the Ford Explorer, traveled through the intersection, and then struck a tree head-on. Emergency crews had to extricate both the driver and passenger of the Subaru before transporting them to Lancaster General Hospital. Regrettably, the passenger, identified as 79-year-old Patricia Wenzel from Manor Township, passed away at the hospital, with her death being deemed accidental by the coroner. The condition of the Subaru driver, a 78-year-old man, remains uncertain. Thankfully, the Ford Explorer driver did not sustain any injuries.
