76-year-old woman dies on I-43 after being hit by alleged drunk driver
A 76-year-old woman from Milwaukee tragically lost her life after being hit by a suspected drunk driver on I-43 northbound at North Avenue. The incident occurred following a two-vehicle crash involving a car and a pickup truck towing a travel trailer early Thursday morning. The woman, identified as Bobbie Wade, is believed to be related to one of the individuals from the initial crash. The Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office reported that after arriving at the scene, Wade got out of her car and was walking around when she was struck by a vehicle. The 25-year-old Milwaukee man driving that vehicle was arrested on suspicion of operating while intoxicated. The crash caused all northbound lanes to be closed for several hours, with cleanup efforts anticipated past 6:30 a.m. As more details become available, the investigation will continue.
