71-year-old man and his two dogs die in Ontario County crash
Naples, N.Y. — A crash in Naples on County Road 12 has left one man dead and a woman hospitalized in critical condition, according to the Ontario County Sheriff's Office. Authorities report that 71-year-old Brian Johnson of Naples and his two dogs died at the scene when his truck was struck head-on by a vehicle driven by 40-year-old Morgan Gleidman of Cohocton. Gleidman, who had two children in the car, reportedly swerved into the oncoming lane before colliding with Johnson’s truck. A third vehicle, driven by a 34-year-old man, was unable to stop and also crashed into the wreckage. The man suffered minor injuries but managed to help Gleidman and her children escape their burning vehicle. Meanwhile, a bystander rescued Johnson’s wife from their vehicle; she was hospitalized with leg fractures. Gleidman was airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital via Mercy Flight. The incident remains under investigation.
