7 injured in crash near Lantana Airport
A small plane carrying two individuals crashed near Palm Beach County Park Airport in Lake Worth Beach on Monday at 4:30 p.m. Keep informed with the most recent news and weather from WPBF 25. Palm Beach County Fire Rescue stated that the incident occurred on Lake Osborne Drive near Cochran Drive, where the plane touched a car's roof before landing on a walking path. Fortunately, there was no fire or major fuel spill. The front of the aircraft suffered significant damage, while the vehicle had minor roof damage. Everyone had evacuated by the time PBCFR arrived. Seven individuals were taken from the crash site, with the pilot and one passenger sustaining minor injuries and being taken to St. Mary’s Medical Center. The struck vehicle contained one adult and four children who were also taken to a nearby hospital as a precaution. Initial investigations suggest the plane hit a palm tree before colliding with a moving vehicle. Thankfully, the accident wasn't more severe. Authorities continue to investigate, with the FAA being involved. The aircraft involved is an Orlican M8 Eagle. Stay tuned for updates as more details emerge.
