6th Ave. traffic halted at Potomac St. due to morning car crash with pedestrian

Eastbound 6th Ave. was closed at Potomac Street for two and a half hours on Tuesday morning due to a car crash involving a pedestrian, according to the Aurora Police Department (APD). The pedestrian was taken to the hospital with severe injuries, and the driver remained at the scene. The APD Traffic Investigations Unit is investigating the incident that occurred around 4:52 a.m., and the road reopened at 7:28 a.m. APD suggested using Colfax or Alameda Avenues as detours. Denver7 Traffic Expert Jayson Luber recommended taking Colfax to save time as many drivers were using Alameda and then Interstate 225.
