
60-year-old man dies after moped crash on Pittsburgh bridge
A 60-year-old man died after crashing his moped on a bridge in Pittsburgh Thursday morning.First responders were called to the crash on the Bloomfield Bridge around 6:30 a.m.According to Pittsburgh Public Safety officials, the man was heading outbound on the bridge toward Bigelow Boulevard when he lost control of his moped. The man then hit the center Jersey barrier and was thrown over the divider into the inbound lanes.He was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later. His name has not been released. “In the upcoming weeks, the city’s Vision Zero Fatal Crash Response Team, which includes the Pittsburgh Police Collision Investigation Unit, will complete a site visit to evaluate potential crash factors,” Pittsburgh Public Safety said in a release.
