6-year-old child dies in Alexandria ATV incident

In Alexandria, Louisiana, a tragic incident involving a collision between a four-wheeler carrying young passengers and a car has resulted in the death of a 6-year-old child and three others being hospitalized. The Alexandria Police Department reported that the accident took place at the intersection of Culpepper Road and North Boulevard on June 18 around 6:36 p.m. The four-wheeler, driven by a 12-year-old and carrying passengers aged 10, 6, and 4, failed to stop at a stop sign, leading to the collision with a vehicle. Sadly, the 6-year-old passenger did not survive the injuries sustained in the crash, while the 4-year-old suffered minor injuries and the 10- and 12-year-olds are in critical condition. It was noted that none of the children were wearing helmets during the incident. Alexandria Police Chief Chad Gremillion expressed the community's sorrow over the tragic event and praised the efforts of first responders and medical staff. Chief Gremillion also emphasized the dangers of using all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) on public roads, stressing that these vehicles are not suitable for such environments and can lead to severe consequences.
