6 injured as carjacking suspect crashes car with children in Inglewood
A short police pursuit in Inglewood resulted in a collision that caused injuries to six individuals and led to the apprehension of two people on Tuesday morning. The Culver City Police Department shared that officers were trying to arrest an armed suspect involved in a carjacking incident, who then fled the scene but not in a reckless or high-speed manner. However, the suspect allegedly ran a red light and crashed into another vehicle. The car also had a woman and two children inside. Thankfully, the injuries from the crash were not life-threatening. The Los Angeles County Fire Department responded swiftly to the scene of the crash and attended to the six patients involved. Video footage demonstrated the aftermath of the crash, with debris scattered at the intersection. The damaged vehicles included a white BMW sedan and a silver Acura SUV, the latter ending up on the sidewalk due to the collision. A user's recording showed the police detaining the two individuals at gunpoint, and also captured first responders assisting the injured children from the vehicle for evaluation.
