Tragically, a 5-year-old boy passed away last month in Chicago's west suburbs after he was hit by a car in his own driveway. Authorities have confirmed that no charges will be pressed in this devastating incident. The accident occurred on Tuesday, May 27, at around 5:09 p.m. on Royal Fox Drive in St. Charles. Upon arrival, emergency responders found a neighbor administering CPR to the child. Despite being rushed to Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital, the boy did not survive. The driver of the vehicle was identified as a family member, and the family as well as the driver were fully cooperative during the investigation. Following a thorough review, Kane County State's Attorney Jamie Mosser announced that no charges would be brought forward. Both Mosser and St. Charles Deputy Police Chief Rich Clark expressed their deep sorrow over the tragedy, emphasizing that it was a heartbreaking accident with no criminal intent, recklessness, or negligence involved. This devastating loss has had a profound impact on the community, and the young boy will be remembered fondly by all.
