5 teenagers hurt in Coxsackie accident

A 16-year-old driver and four underage passengers were reportedly hurt in a collision on State Route 81 in Coxsackie on Saturday, according to New York State Police. The event occurred at approximately 3:15 p.m. Officials said a preliminary inquiry found that the 16-year-old male was driving a 2013 Chevrolet Malibu westbound when he lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a rock embankment. The driver and passengers suffered various injuries and were taken to Albany Medical Center for treatment. Greene County 911 reported the incident involved entrapment and ejection. As of Monday, all occupants were listed in stable condition. The cause of the accident is still being investigated.
