Tragic events unfolded on Lake Tahoe as a boat capsized amid severe weather conditions over the weekend. The U.S. Coast Guard reported encountering 30 knot winds and 6-8 foot swells, approximately equivalent to 35 mph winds. A group of individuals onboard a 27-foot gold Chris-Craft boat faced the unfortunate incident caused by a large swell. Emergency responders were alerted to 10 individuals in distress at D.L. Bliss State Park, resulting in six fatalities, with two individuals hospitalized and two still missing. Search efforts by rescue teams and divers began immediately and continued into the next day.
