47-year-old woman killed in fatal crash in DeKalb County
Authorities in DeKalb County, Illinois have identified the victim of a fatal crash on Tuesday morning as 77-year-old Kayla Ford from Waterman. The DeKalb County Sheriff's Office reported that the crash occurred at Route 30 and Rimsnider Road at approximately 1:27 a.m. Ford was the sole occupant of a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze and had to be rescued from the vehicle following the accident. She was initially taken to Northwest Medicine Valley West Hospital and later airlifted to OSF St. Anthony Hospital in Rockford, where she later died from her injuries. The DeKalb County Sheriff's Office and the Winnebago County Coroner's Office are currently investigating the incident.
