42-year-old man killed in 70th traffic incident on Oʻahu

A tragic incident occurred on Nimitz Highway in Honolulu on October 27, where a 42-year-old man lost his life in a single-vehicle accident. The man was driving at a high speed around 3:38 a.m. when he collided with a concrete support pillar near Valkenberg Street. Despite wearing a seatbelt, the impact was fatal, as reported by the Honolulu Police Department. Emergency services arrived at the scene but unfortunately, the man was pronounced dead. This marks the 70th traffic fatality on Oʻahu this year, showing a significant increase from the 38 fatalities at this time in 2024.
