34-year-old man dies after crashing under I-635 bridge in Overland Park
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A 34-year-old man is dead after crashing under the Interstate 635 bridge early Sunday morning in Overland Park, Kansas. According to the Overland Park Police Department, at about 3:50 a.m., a witness reported seeing a car speeding southbound on Interstate 35. Shortly after, the witness came upon the same car and told police it had crashed under the eastbound I-635 bridge. After OPPD and emergency responders arrived, the driver, identified as Nicolas Hawthorne of Kansas City, Missouri, was taken from the scene with life-threatening injuries. He later died at the hospital from injuries, OPPD said.
