33-year-old physician dies in fatal car crash

Tragedy struck in Kottyam when a 33-year-old doctor, identified as Dr. Amal Suraj, lost his life in a heartbreaking accident as his car plunged into a canal in Vaikom on Friday morning. Dr. Suraj, a resident of Ottapalam in Palakkad district and employed at a private hospital in Kottarakkara, Kollam, was the unfortunate victim. The incident came to light as local residents spotted a car wheel protruding from the canal and promptly informed the authorities. After efforts from the Fire and Rescue team and the police, the car was retrieved from the water, revealing the doctor's body inside. The deceased has been transferred to the Government Hospital in Vaikom for further investigation. Police are currently looking into the circumstances of the accident, suspecting that it occurred during the early hours and may have been unnoticed due to the darkness. Preliminary findings suggest that the doctor might have either fallen asleep at the wheel or taken a wrong route, possibly misled by GPS directions. Meanwhile, a parallel tragic incident involving a 35-year-old general physician named Dr. Kasturi Jagadish Chandra from KIMS-Sunshine Hospital in Hyderabad was reported earlier by Medical Dialogues, where he lost his life in a collision while returning from work as a pillion passenger on a motorbike.
