A tragic incident occurred on Tuesday night in Sarpy County, where a 32-year-old woman lost her life in a collision at an intersection. The Sarpy County Sheriff's Office reported that the crash took place near the intersection of 162nd Avenue and Harrison Street. The collision involved a Nissan Murano driven by Lismary Cocho de la Paz, traveling eastbound on Harrison Street, and a Chrysler Town and Country driven by Zakari Abdoulaye, traveling northbound on 162nd Avenue attempting to turn left onto Harrison Street. After the vehicles collided in the intersection, Cocho de la Paz exited her vehicle to check the damage. Unfortunately, she was struck by another vehicle, an Audi Q5 driven by Charles Curley. Bystanders performed CPR on Cocho de la Paz until first responders arrived and took her to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Curley was also hospitalized in serious condition. Abdoulaye, who initially left the scene, was later located at his place of employment. Authorities confirmed that alcohol or drugs were not believed to be factors in the crashes and are urging anyone with information to contact the Sarpy County Sheriff's Office.
