3 taken to hospital, structure damaged after car slams into building near 31st and Jackson
Three people had to be taken to area hospitals and structural engineers are working to examine a building in Kansas City's Ingleside neighborhood after a car slammed into it Thursday. An official with the Kansas City, Missouri, Fire Department said emergency crews were dispatched to a crash involving two vehicles in the 4200 block of East 31st Street, just off Jackson Avenue, around 11:52 Thursday morning. Emergency crews said two vehicles had been involved in a crash at that location with one vehicle slamming into an automotive shop building located on the street corner.Three people were taken to area hospitals for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.A spokesperson for KCFD said the building sustained significant damage. After the car is removed from the structure, engineers will need shore it up to prevent further damage.
