3 injured in crash along I-10 near Lordsburg

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) -- Three people were injured in a crash involving two commercial vehicles on Sunday morning, June 21 along Interstate 10 outside of Lordsburg, New Mexico, New Mexico State Police said. The crash happened along Interstate 10 East near mile marker one, close to the Arizona state line. Preliminary information indicates a FedEx tractor-trailer struck the rear of another commercial vehicle that was parked on the shoulder, State Police said. One person was airlifted, and two other people were taken by ambulance to a local area hospital, State Police said. Interstate 10 east was closed for about 5 1/2 hours because of the crash, but reopened at about 3 p.m. Sunday, the New Mexico Department of Transportation said. The crash remains under investigation.
