3 girls under the age of 15 found in stolen car after crash: police

Police in Simi Valley found three girls under the age of 15 in a stolen vehicle following a pursuit crash.  A Simi Valley Police Department release states that an officer ran the plates of a vehicle he observed near Erringer Road and Cochran Street just before 2 a.m. Saturday.   The plates came back as stolen, SVPD said, and when units attempted to conduct a traffic stop, the car fled and a pursuit was initiated.  Eventually, the driver of the vehicle lost control, ran off the road and rolled over near First and Flower Glen streets, which is about one-and-a-half miles from where the chase first started.   First responders arrived at the scene and found the three occupants inside the vehicle – one 13-year-old girl and two 14-year-old girls – with “significant” injuries. Video obtained by KTLA shows that the silver SUV the girls were in had come to rest on its roof next to a wall. The crash, which severely damaged the vehicle, left debris scattered across the road. They were all transported to a nearby hospital for treatment; police did not disclose their conditions.   The teens, all residents of Simi Valley, were charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, conspiracy, felony evading and possession of burglary tools.   They were released to hospital staff and their guardians, SVPD said.
