3 arrested, including 2 Good Samaritans, after crash near World War II Memorial in DC
Three people got locked up overnight in D.C. after a car crash near the World War II Memorial, including two Good Samaritans who stopped to help and were later accused of having drugs on them. According to the U.S. Park Police (USPP), officers were called around 12:48 a.m. July 19 to Kutz Bridge after a vehicle crashed into a lamppost. Police said the driver, who was the only person in the car, did not get hurt. According to USPP officials, the driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI). Police said those two people were later arrested on drug possession charges. Authorities did not release the names of those arrested or specify what kind of drugs were involved.
